Thea goes to Sweden for the 1st time!
Hi,
So our vacation has finished *at least mine* (Caro has some days left before her maternity leave ends). After visiting Caro's parents in a warm beautiful Nice and staying one week in our home here in Cessy it was time for aour family to do our annual summer trip to Sweden. This time was a bit special since it would be the first time for Théa to go on a longer trip and also to meet her grandfather, "Farfar"Jan but also her cousin Carl and his parents Mattias and Lisa.
Théa was incredibly calm and nice during the whole flight of 2h40min and the cartrip of 1h40min. We are really lucky to have such a nice baby... I was a little bit afraid since I have encountered plenty of screaming babies on the Sweden flight among the 8 years I have been travelling but our princess could not behave better than she did!
As I already told this was the first meeting with Swedish cousin Carl and they seemed to like eachother, Carl got a little bit jelous of Théa when she was in "farmor" Åsa's knee once but no long hard feelings there. Carl is about 8 months older than Théa if I remember right but a rather different personality, not as calm as his baby cousin Théa but just as cute! Maybe it is an age thing? We´ll see....

Family together by dinner table @ Jan & Åsa's home!
Grandmother, "Farmor" Åsa has already met Thea when she was 1 month old in our home but was very happy to see her again. She could really tell the difference in size since the last time.
Théa in the arms of "Farmor".
And "Farfar" Jan was of course also happy to meet the newest family member, they became friends almost instantly! ;)

Here are the proud mums with their loved ones! :)
During our stay in Sweden the Olympic Games in Beying was on it's last week, Sweden was not at all successful this year and did their worst olympics ever (finished 56 in the medal standings, just after Tunisia!!!) France on the other hand ( And I hate to admit it) did well and finished 10th.
Here we see Théa and "Farfar" watching the Olympic contestants in their hunt for medals!
Théa finally got a gift that was sent almost 5 months ago by my mum's sister Kerstin, she had the wrong address to us and the packet had been bouncing between countries before finally arriving to my parents place. The contents can be seen below!
Théa in the new clothes, cute as ever...
Thea liked to lay on a lambs fur, so soft and warm, made her all happy!

While beeing in Sweden Caro tried som shots of golf, here posing for the press!
Before we left to sweden we started to give Théa some "real food". We steam cook and mash different vegetables (potatoes, carrots, broccoli, "palsternacka" or "panais", corn etc.) into a purée. She gets about 130gr every lunch and seems to like everything we throw at her!
Thats a funny thing to feed her and see how she enjoys to eat something different from the milk!

Finally I want to thank our parents for letting us stay at their places and supporting us with Théa and also making our vacation into a lovely stay. I am sure they also had a great time and promise that there will be more of that later on! Also a thank you to friends giving presents and generally beeing nice, you are all welcome to visit us!!!

Théa is 5 months old today!
It has already passed 5 months since she came to our world, time passes quickly and Théa is growing like never before!
We went to the doctor today for a little checkup and doctor said everything was just fine with Théa, she is well withing the curves (weight and length) and she is growing according to the plan.
Her weight right now is 6670gr and she measures 62cm. We are of course very happy with that!
The doctor said that from now on we are allowed to start giving her some cooked/mashed vegetables (130gr/day). We were told to start with one vegetable and use the same for 3 days and then try another for 2 days and so on... later on we will be able to do the same with different sorts of fruits as well. Théa is now eating 210ml of milk, 4 times a day and she has a good appetite (just like before, every 3,5-4hours she has her meal). She is also sleeping whole nights, normally between 21.00 and 09.00, without interuption! We are (again) very happy with that! ;)
So what have we done since last? Well, we have had some vacation and visited family and friends in Morières (close to Avignon) and Nice. It has been very nice weather the last weeks and the temperature has been hoovering around 34-36°. It has been extremely important not only for us but for Théa to drink sufficient!
Théa's grandparents in Nice has been very happy to spend so much time with Théa and we have also been able to enjoy some time for ourselves. It is not so easy when you are new parents to find some time for just yourselves but we managed to go for a day trip to Villefranche-sur-mer and also to visit the island St.Margerite just outside Cannes. Two very nice days with bathing and sun.
Théa is very active (like always) and she is smiling alot, she has made some small efforts to laugh but just made it halfways. She is trying to speak but in her own way... yesterday we were watching TV and they showed the french flag bearer for the Olympic Games, and we got the impression Théa fell in love with him! Every time they showed him on the screen she was making big eyes and started speaking, we were laughing heavily and thought she was sooo cute! Then daddy said that she was only allowed to love him, and of course mummy and some relatives... we'll see about that in the future I guess! :)
Thèa has so far not had any problems with travelling, it does not matter if it is by car, airplane or other transportation. She is just calm and either sleeps or sits calmly in our laps. We are very happy for that and hope that the upcoming 2.40h trip by plane to Sweden will be just as good.
Last trip from Nice by plane we had forgot her dummy but she did not even complain once!!!
Now we have 1 more week before Sweden will show its face to Théa for the 1st time, here she will meet my father (her "farfar Jan") and also my brothers family (including the Swedish cousin Carl). I am sure it will be a welcome rendezvous!
Last we have some photos to show recent pictures of Théa:
